Voskresinnia's confrontation with their
interpretation of Chekhov’s masterpiece The
Cherry Orchard. The theme of the changing values of a
society that has grown complacent, is still relevant today. These
Ukrainian artists only touch the tip of the iceberg, while the
audience feels it has been taken on a journey to vanity, yearning
and a painful loss of time. Voskresinnia combines dramatic sets and
dynamic music, both of which are complemented by captivating special
effects. Duration 60 minuts
.. this is what the presentation was one of the most shown at the festival. The director has focused primarily on the transfer of the image world of dreams and illusions Chekhov characters - hence the scene with the dancing puppets on stilts next to the dream of a happy childhood, the owner, walks in dressed in white and moving on stilts, people waiting on the thriving orchard, carefree fun commoners. The imaginary part of the reality of the estate was the most colorful residents,
and the most interesting side show, which next to the value of the visual interpretation was valid. Chekhov boring world without hope of improving the situation of the bankrupt estate is turned into the world of memories, reckless and bordering on the insane fun main character Lyubov Raniewska,
and other residents of Cherry Orchard. Agata Kirol, Miroslaw Baran Gazeta Wyborcza in Gdansk 17-07-2006
The play "The Cherry Orchard, " the Ukrainian Theatre Voskresinnia
remain for long in the memory of spectators 27th Street Theatre
Festival, which ended on Sunday in Jelenia Gora.
Some plays are eternal. There are a lot of productions and
treatment, but they are always actual and interesting. One of
such eternal stories – “The Cherry Orchard” by Anton Chekhov.
Every hero of the performance is ill: someone because of love,
other – loneliness… But they cannot cure. The only thing that
unites everybody is the Cherry Orchard, like a symbol of a
paradise, childhood, “the best sight on the planet”. “I cannot
imagine my life without the cherry orchard. And if it must be
sold, then sell me together with my orchard”, - says Lubov
Ranevska, but does nothing to save her Edem. As a result of
inactivity – the orchard is sold, and all its inhabitants have
to find for themselves other shelter, other careless paradise.Vysokiy Zamok 29.05.2008
Beautiful and clever story about the passing of paradise lost and
touched even those who do not know of Chekhov. Lviv Theater
Voskresinnia successfully translated it into a circus (march of the
gladiators), clowning and satire (Family walking on stilts). Liked
the game very expressive of actors, especially girls reproducing the
main character. ALKA, Polska the Times GAZETA WROCŁAWSKA 09.08.2009
The performance is very Chekhov-style and at
the same time very modern and actual. Very inteligent and very
creative. It is a producer’s performance. Just from the first
seconds of the performance spectators are removed to the age of
cherry orchards...
At the same time actors clearly declarate by
visual effects (scenography – Alla Fedoryshyna) some “retreat of
person, who plays” from all the events on the scene.
Ranevska-Fedoryshyna shows to the spectator all palette of her
hero’s feelings… The

t's hard to imagine a street full of nostalgia present "The Cherry
Orchard," but the theatre of Lviv, although presented mass spectacle,
full of rushing the elements, has not lost the charm of Chekhov, by
himself called comedy. Comedy is a bitter, marked by transience, so returning to the
playground smacks funeral, because the hatchet after the final - the
sale of the orchard - hangs in the air. Internal unrest calm you are not imported into the province, the
sounds of Italian tarantella, polka galopki Vienna, the Argentine
tango. And when the ax finally falls, this will be the Wagner "Die Walkure
canter," and devoid of trees flowers (including hangers, chandeliers,
hand) as a blush. In light of the fire rush to the square cars, bikes, scooters,
shooting fireworks into the sky and the bells are rung. And the spirit of Chekhov is still in the present.

How to translate classic scene to the language of the street?
On this question, the answer - Voskresinnia from Lviv gave
today, in the second day of the XXVIII International Festival of
Street Theatre Theatre , a comedy of Chekhov's" Cherry Orchard
"interpreted in the space of Town Hall Square.
Is the translation has gone? "The Cherry Orchard" is next to the
"Three Sisters" one of the most emblematic works of Russian
playwright.
Who does not know the works of the classical form, does not know the
exact content watching the street version.
Spectator "unprepared," and this is usually the recipient of a
statistical piece of street theatre, the representation of
perceiving a number of associations and a lot of colorful images of
beautiful spots built by Ukrainians in the vision of the work of
Russian classics. It
is thus the title "The Cherry Orchard", associated with Eden, which
played out scenes range from love and happy to sad and nostalgic.
It is the joy of two main protagonists, who exude feelings remain
among the branches of flowering and "smelling" sour cherries (the
viewer imagines the smell).
Among the trees appear stilt walkers, and another characteristic of
the world presented the Russian types.
It is a wonderful scene where the main characters - in love and
their family - celebrate a dignified walking on stilts.
There are satirical episodes, taken from the circus alive, even one
with a mighty fat man, who at the gladiator march lugging buckets of
water, and later - with his antagonist, competes in the sit down on
a board with nails .
But this paradise will soon be over, and inform the multilanguage
message that the August 22 Cherry Orchard - us treat this as a
proper name - will be sold.
That message sounds like the announcement at a crowded train
overheard the age megaphones, is repeated several times.
In the end user changes the owner who destroys it.
This is accompanied by Russian sadness coupled with an acute
drinking, which turns everything into a game, despite destination.
The Performance by Voskresinnia is a great metaphor of paradise lost
and the eternal quest for happiness is still fleeing.
Shown in a convincing and colorful way.
Expressive playing actors, actresses especially reproducing the main
character.
Girl with a disability as well hide your weakness that you can see
it only if, after the applause leaves the scene.
In "The Cherry Paradise" is a lot of props.
Maybe a little too much "is also an interesting soundtrack.
Unfortunately, it happens sometimes the quality of "telephone."
Who knows?
Why not just meant to be?
However, by the (d) effect of some of the messages sound like
gibberish.
Despite these shortcomings hours devoted to art is certainly not
time wasted.
And it's hard not to have the impression that at both the technical
and mental, "The Cherry Orchard" is one of the best presentations in
the history of the Festival.

(...) And at the end of the eventful day, on the Boleslav the Brave
square appeared Lviv Theatre Voskresinnia giving the show called
"The Cherry Orchard. " In contrast to the presentation of the
originals Chekhov shows there was not a shred of inactivity. The
artists created a beautiful spectacle in visual terms. Their energy,
despite the cold , warm audience gathered in the square. A stroll on
stilts, with umbrellas in hand between the hangers imitation cherry

The performance “The Cherry
Orchard” of the Lviv theatre “Voskresinnia” became the real event of
the festival. It was shown on the first day of the festival on the
Serpukhov square, surrounded by the sounds of evening coolness. The
performance is directed by Yaroslav Fedoryshyn, a student of
Anatoliy Efros, theater play lover, a master of irony. "The Cherry
Orchard" is spontaneous and is built on opposites. Performance is
colored by tones of something supernatural that is beyond the
realistic drama frames. Herman Hesse, describing a world, created by
Franz Kafka, noted that "it is unknown how he appears in the kingdom
of visions which is characterized by ghostly unreality, or looks
like a dream, like a burning reality”. The performance of Yaroslav
Fedoryshyn is also such a distant unreality, sinking in the darkness
that blows with the live fire, and dissolves in the night.High
"Chekhov people" who were on stilts, in white costumes and with
white umbrellas, hovering in space of flowering cherry trees, were
looking down without noticing that under the flowering branches –
was iron frame. Cherry trees, made of iron hangers, having lost
their tender petals, are surrounded by buckets. The house of
Ranevska - a pile of sand, as in children's sandboxes, is shown as
an attempt to build a castle from the water. Sand pyramid is tied up
by a pole with wheels, as at fairs. A moment later, she seems like
the grave, where instead of the cross is broom. Play is enigma,
puzzle, rebus. A picture is distorted and is constantly changing.
After a couple of months the performance seemed to be a prediction
of a fiery 2010 summer - with parched fields and the black, charred
trees, that would smell for a long time.

11thInternational Theatre Festival “Melihovska Vesna”. (Melihov, Russia)The performance "The Cherry Orchard" by
Lviv Academic theatre
"Voskresinnia"
did the real furor
on the festival. The show was played on the
central square of Serpukhov and impressed the audience by the power
of creative pressure. A huge podium and
the remains of sand at the backside with some cubes - children's sandbox in the past,
and now simply abandoned and forgotten somewhere in the back yard.Ranevska appears solemnly
and almost royally comes from the top. She
is met at the bottom - the same small, easily
recognizable home: young Ann, old Firs, Varia, foolish Peter ...
and Lopuhin -
magnificent, beautiful, strong young free
man. He
easily picks up Ranevska
and playing, twists her
in the air like a child.High (almost twice as high
as the growth of
human), metal hangers
on wheels decorated with flowering cherry branches. The music is being played, fireworks
are exploding,
characters are running,
jumping, dancing.
But some strange ominous figures
on stilts appear with
billiard clubs in their hands. They touch
one of the characters’
head, then another, and the poor residents of Cherry Orchard, as
layers follow the way of the clubs.
The danger from
nowhere - strange, unexplained, absurd. Lopahin tapes
the house. As a
matter of fact,
there is no house, in such way the police
tape the scene. Cherry Orchard is on
fire. This is considered to be violence, danger,
something unavoidable. A rumble from the sky,
the sound, duration and outbreaks of fire .... And helpless,
restlessly people with the last remnants of the weak forces are
trying to save what can not be saved.
Departure made as emigration, which condemns
to affection forever. Handbags,
suitcases are
lowered from the high podium to the ground, but they are unlink. Everyone
scene is burdened
sense, justified the existence of high voltage actor. Actors work -
one better than another. We
see a formula-play
synopsis, imaginative play with patience, with life, with fate. The
play, which concludes and summarizes the twentieth century. This
performance is
certainly worth seeing.
And if you can not see
it in Moscow, you
need to go to the Lviv
and see it in Lviv
academic theatre “Voskresinnia”.Warm spring is changed by the hot summer, and
